Hi. I'm Allan Greene, from Brooklyn, New York, where I enjoy life with my wife and two young sons. I am a composer and pianist, and, more to the point, a dance accompanist. My resume includes stints as the Company Pianist with the Dance Theater of Harlem and Aterballetto, as well as many years accompanying at American Ballet Theater, the Joffrey School in New York, Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, and many, many other dance schools and venues. I usually say what I need to say through my music, but the time is now and the place is here to speak out.. about me. I've been watching, studying and enjoying ballet as a composer, pianist and collaborator for more than thirty years. Making music for folks to dance to has always seemed as natural, and compelling, to me as artistic creativity. And although I've done architectural design and playwriting, written critical commentary, directed and done musical direction, composed for the theater, cinema and concert hall, and hold a New York City #6 Boiler Operator's License, I always find my way back to the piano in the ballet studio. From behind the music desk I've supplemented, cajoled, commented wryly upon, elevated, amused and (I've been told) inspired tens of thousands of dancers in thousands of classes and performances. The essence of these experiences I offer to you, on this website, BALLET CLASS TUNES.
